MC Loire from Manchester hooked up with DJ Sheik from Hull in 1992, together they formed Hearts of Darkness. Taking influence from Hip Hop icons such as: A Tribe called Quest, Souls of Mischief, Eric B & Rakim, Kool G Rap, Lord Finesse & DITC, they produced a unique Funk Jazz Hip Hop sound – A backline of rare breakbeats, loops and samples topped off with DJ scratching and dynamic vocal delivery.
