Heroes Of UK Hip Hop

If you like your old style UK hip hop, the A side on this release is definitely for you. Slang Shotgun opens up with gunshot fire and sirens very reminiscent of early First Frontal Assault, Hijack stuff, then Junior Disprol drops straight in over the beat. Junior Disprol is practically faultless over the quality beat that Optimas Prime has provided, there is an echoing effect on his voice, which at first I was unsure about, but it definitely grows on you and now I feel the track would be losing so much without it. Optimas Prime has produced a track that is a definite head nodder calling any emcee to drop over it and provides some cuts and scratches that would make the hardest of . There is a Style Wars break half way through that you need to listen out for, because it's quality, with cuts all the over the place.

The B Side, Prince Of Persia, features Blaktrix on vocals over a much slower tempo beat than the A Side track and is heavily influenced by the eastern sound. It doesn't really do anything for me lyrically, unfortunately, but I don't want to take anything away from Blaktrix's vocal talents as he has a decent voice and excellent flow.

Overall, it's a record of two halves, the first half is for the old school B-Boy and the second half is for the modern hip hoppa.
