Heroes Of UK Hip Hop

Like most people that have followed UK hip hop since the early days, I've been waiting and waiting and waiting for MC Mell'O' to finally drop a new tune and here it is. Quietly out of the shadows without much promotion comes the perfectly titled 'Give Them What They Want' and MC Mell'O' has been blessed with a beat from one of the most underrated producers in the UK over the years, former First Down frontman Aroe.

Don't expect to hear the Mell'O' that came with the quick agressive delivery on such tunes as 'Mello Gone Crazy', this is a more laid back, yet still with the aggressive undertones Mell'O'. Lyrically it's nothing special, but I don't think Mell'O' was aiming this tune towards listeners that really cared about the lyrical content, it's more of a 'get off your arse and shake it' kind of tune and it definitely does that, I was shaking mine like I was sandwiched between two fat ladies sharing a road drill. The beat is hard, typical Aroe style, with big drums, trumpets and a hook that you can't stop repeating for hours afterwards, trust me.

Overall, it's a great comeback tune for Mell'O', probably the right sort of tune to drop to get him back on the scene and get people to take notice. I await rubbing hands for more Mell'O', please let there be more because this tune has made me hungry.
