Insane Macbeth (featuring The 'Legendary' Icepick)
TRUE HEART
Four years since it's release on Insane's The Retardation Project album, Insane Macbeth and Icepick make a long awaited return to the uk scene with True Heart, a piano looped track that get's the head nodding and makes the ears connect with The Icepick's vocal style instantly. The Icepick would do justice to many beats, but Insane Macbeth has given him a beat that suits his style perfectly, when breaking down Killing Me Softly with a UK hip hop raw style in the hook, you realise you're about to hear a raw tune.

Lyrically, it's what the Icepick does best, big himself up to the rest of the scene in a rugged vocal tone, that remains composed thoughout with lines like 'pissing on your stage, mark my territory, backbone dignitary, I no lie, I make a man sight cemetery and reside'. It's not the dark dungeon sound that we're used to from Insane Macbeth, it's funkier and slower than say the likes of Kinetic Effect's 'Border Insanity', it does what's it's meant to and that's get the head nodding.

On the flip side we got a rare freestyle from The Icepick over the same beat, which gives the people who didn't hear 'True Heart' the first time around something else to grab a hold of, along with an instrumental and top quality packaging, this is definitely money well spent.

It's a quality return for both artists involved and hopefully there will be more to come, I like many, am still waiting for the official release of Insane Macbeth's 'The Retardation Project', and fingers crossed it won't be too long.
