Biography
Total Fiasco was formed in 1988 when DJ Snypa, DJ Geta, Mark H and Image,
already part of a crew called SDL, first met with Demon Child MC (Bandog).
A year later in 1989 they pressed their first single 'Method To The
Madness' b/w 'See How They Run' around 500 copies to white label only.
In 1990 they renamed themselves to Onslaught without Mark H and Image
and signed to Music Of Life, but had to change their name to Killa Instinct
because a US group already had rights to Onslaught. Later that year
they put out their first proper release, 'Bambi Murders' on Music Of
Life, which totally blew people away. Bandog's furious fast pace emceeing,
along with DJ Geta's and Snypa's cuts left UK Hip Hop heads in total
admiration for their skills and waiting with anticipation for their
next release. With just one more release on Music Of Life, they left
and released their next project on European Rhyme Records. Then they
went on to Move Records, and released the excellent 'Escapism EP' featuring
one of my favourite Killa tracks 'Brain Dead'. In 1995 DJ Snypa left
Killa Instinct and a year later the remaining members DJ Geta and Bandog,
released the aptly titled 'The Penultimate Sacrifice' EP, their final
release before deciding to call it time and go their separate ways.
Then in 2002, news started spreading that Bandog and Geta were working
together again, Killa Instinct were reformed and they released their
debut and only full length album the brilliant 'Dead Breed' on UK Rap
Records, which opened with the fantastic 'We Don't Conform' sampling
the Demon Boyz' Mike J saying 'About f***king time we been recognised".
Try and grab this if you can, it's an amazing album, for me, it was
a break from modern day hip hop, back to the sound that I was raised
on. Sound samples are in the discography section below, go check em
now.
Bandog is now part of Hundredth Monkey along with Remark from Deliverance,
they have recently released the Sick Little EP. Geta is part of a breakbeat
crew called Hook N Sling. |
